Continued insurance after job loss

Should you after the 58th birthday If you withdraw from compulsory insurance due to termination of your employment relationship by your employer (loss of job or termination agreement on the initiative of the employer), you have the option of continuing your pension with TRANSPARENTA up to the reference age at the latest.
Important: Continuing insurance must be applied for within one month of the termination of the contribution obligation (withdrawal).
The prerequisite for voluntary continued insurance is that you
- do not receive your retirement benefits early from TRANSPARENTA; and
- continue to be insured with AHV
As a result, as a cross-border commuter, you are unfortunately unable to continue your pension plan voluntarily, as you are no longer insured with the AHV.
Termination/end of voluntary continued insurance
You can cancel your continued insurance at any time without retroactive effect to the end of the month. Otherwise, continued insurance is forcibly terminated if you join another pension fund as a result of a new employment relationship and have to use more than two thirds of your exit benefit to purchase the full regulatory benefits of the new pension fund. Continuing insurance also ends in the event of disability, death or if you are no longer insured with AHV, which is the case when you leave Switzerland for good.
No lump-sum payments allowed after 2 years of continued insurance
If you take out voluntary continued insurance in the event of job loss after age 58 for more than two years, you must pay the retirement benefit in accordance with Art. Art. 47a, paragraph 6 It is mandatory to receive in the form of pension. This capital withdrawal prohibition also applies to WEF advance payment.
